Police: Livingston Manor man threatened others with knife

A man with a knife and suboxone, a narcotic, was arrested in Livingston Manor on Friday, Dec. 5 for "threatening others and destroying the interior of a house," according to the New York State Police.

State troopers responding to a 911 call arrested 44-year-old Neal McCarthy of Livingston Manor and charged him with felony criminal possession of a weapon, misdemeanor menacing, endangering the welfare of a child and possession of a controlled substance, and a harassment violation.

McCarthy, who was on probation in Sullivan County, was arraigned in the town of Rockland Court and sent to the Sullivan County Jail, where he was held without bail. The Sullivan County Department of Probation has filed a probation violation, the press release states.
