Motorcyclist arrested after 193mph Thruway ride

A 28-year old Poughkeepsie man, Anthony J. Anderson, was arrested in Rosendale on Wednesday after state troopers clocked his motorcycle going 193mph on the New York State Thruway. In the rain, no less.

Anderson was written 14 traffic tickets and remanded to the Ulster County Jail.

The State Police at Kingston, NY announce the arrest of a motorcyclist on the New York State Thruway. A Trooper observed a motorcyclist traveling a high rate of speed in the Town of Coeymans, Albany County. The trooper was able to get a description of the high performance bike and alerted the adjoining patrols. Despite the rain and wet pavement, the driver continued at a high rate of speed on the Thruway.  The driver was stopped in the Town of Rosendale, Ulster County where he was taken into custody without incident. The operator claimed he was en route to a Poughkeepsie area hospital in order to visit a patient.  The operator ANTHONY J. ANDERSON 28, of Poughkeepsie, NY was issued a total of 14 traffic tickets including one for traveling 193 miles an hour. Anderson was arraigned before the Town of Saugerties Justice court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $1500 bond.
