Heroin bust in Downsville Country Store parking lot

The Delaware County Sheriff's Office reports that two men were arrested in Downsville on Friday, December 7, after they tried to sell 73 bags of heroin to an undercover police informant.

Arrested were 29-year-old Patrick Ladd and 30-year-old Walter Lewis II, both former Delaware County residents now living in Pennsylvania. Police say the drug deal and subsequent arrest took place in the parking lot of the Downsville Country Store.

Both men were arraigned at the Town of Colchester Court and remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000.00 cash bail each.

Drug arrests by Delaware County sheriff's deputies have been on an uptick lately. Just last week, the Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of seven people in Walton in connection with the sale of heroin, black-market prescription drugs and marijuana, after a lengthy investigation. And on November 16, a man was arrested in Walton after he allegedly tried to sell 80 bags of heroin to an undercover officer.
