Police: Three Margaretville residents hauled heroin in U-Haul

On Monday, three young Margaretville residents were stopped in the town of Middletown as they were driving a U-Haul truck, which, according to a State Police press release, turned out to be loaded with 60 envelopes of heroin, each stamped with the word "Gucci." The three, 22-year-old Matthew A. Santiago, 19-year-old Courtney R. Williamson, and 19-year-old Michael V. Johnson, were arrested.

State Police Arrest Three for Possession of Heroin

(Sidney NY, April 27, 2011) On April 25, 2011, New York State Police at Margaretville arrested Matthew A. Santiago (age 22), Courtney R. Williamson (age 19), and Michael V. Johnson (age 19) for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, a Class B felony. The arrests occurred following a traffic stop on State Route 28, in the Town of Middletown. The vehicle occupied was a "Uhaul" moving truck. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of approximately sixty glassine envelopes of heroin that were packaged for sale. The glassine envelopes were each marked "GUCCI". All three subjects are residents from the Margaretville area. All three were arraigned in the Town of Middletown Court and remanded to the Delaware County Jail in lieu of bail.
